"Truth About Moving Others"

marc's book of the month
Book of the Month Tells "Truth About Moving Others"
This month's book of the month takes an all-new take on "selling."
In To Sell is Human: The Surprising Truth about Moving Others, author Daniel H. Pink explains that in today's high-tech and fast-paced world, the key is to tap in to what most humans do—which is to"convince someone to part with resources" or to"move forward" in some way.
Pink says that, according to the U.S. Bureau of Statistics, one in nine Americans works in sales. This means more than 15 million people earn their living by persuading others to purchase their goods or products.
However, Pink says, the other eight out of nine are, in some way, in sales as well. He says all of us are linked to the process of "non-sales selling" or in needing to move others in some way.
"Whether we're employees pitching colleagues on a new idea, entrepreneurs enticing funders to invest, or parents and teachers cajoling children to study, we spend our days trying to move others. Like it or not, we're all in sales now," Pink says.
He goes on to share ways in which the old sales techniques are no longer effective.
He says the "ABC" approach of "Always Be Closing"needs to be replaced with what he calls a new set of "ABCs," atunement, buoyancy and connection.
Attunement is taking the time to tune in to others, to see where THEY are coming from, rather than what you want from them.
Buoyancy refers to being optimistic and positive in your approach, while having a passion for what you are selling.
Connection, Pink says, is finding ways to reach out to your customers in whatever situations they may be and in ways that will truly reach them.
He says in the area of health and education, which applies to us, as AwarenessLife distributors, there is an opportunity to move people "for long distances and long term."
This requires education, pointing people in the right direction and helping them find initial success.
"I like the ideas Daniel Pink presents about moving people, rather than selling them. At AwarenessLife Worldwide, we have a mission to move people toward greater health and, therefore, to greater satisfaction in life, more confidence and better relationships with family and friends."
"It's an interesting way to look at 'sales,' but definitely one that can help if you realize that what you are doing is giving others a chance— moving them— to experience greater health and joy in life," says Marc Tahiliani, President and CEO.
Learn how to make the most of this approach and truly move others toward great results, with To Sell is Human.

Tips for Traveling by Bus or Train

Tips for Traveling by Bus or Train

- If there are no visible names for each stop, enlist the help of a nearby seat mate to let you know when a certain stop comes up.  When the writer of this article traveled by train for their job, they would count the number of stops until theirs. They are grateful for buses and trains that have visual displays of stops and information.
Tell a fellow traveler or an attendant that you have hearing loss so that you don’t miss any safety announcements.

General Travel Tips

- Travel can be fun but a little time spent preparing and researching your trip will make it more enjoyable. Travel does not have to be avoided because of a hearing loss.  So plan ahead, inform your fellow travelers, transportation hosts and hotel clerks that you have a hearing problem and enjoy yourself.

- Try to make all travel arrangements in advance. Once transportation arrangements have been made, request written confirmation to ensure that information is correct. Always inform the ticket representative that you are hearing- impaired.

- Remember to take your passport, Visa, money and tickets

- Make sure you get comprehensive travel and medical insurance before you go.
  • Obtain local knowledge, carry out a bit of research into your destination including its laws, customs and language. Read a good guidebook and familiarize yourself with your destination(s).
- Visit you doctor at least 6 weeks before you depart and find out what needles you may need.
  • Take photocopies of all your documents, passports, visa cards etc, keep one copy with you and have it in a safe place and leave one copy with a family member. -
  • Set up an e-mail account: e-mail yourself and trusted friend or relative details of your insurance policy, passport, itinerary and emergency contact numbers (insurance company, credit card company) just in case.
  • (Note- I am not sure I agree with this above statement, but I will leave that up to you if you trust the e-mail service)
- Carry printed copies of lodging reservations, dates and prices

- Take enough money, take a mixture of cash, travelers’ cheques and credit cards
and do not keep them all in one place. Tell your bank if you are going to be away and where you plan to go, otherwise you might not be able to use your cards.  Ask what banks they are affiliated with in the county you are visiting. These banks should accept your cards where others might not.
I had trouble using my one client card and had a second one that did work.

- Keep in touch with friends and family

Arrive early at the airport, bus terminal, or train station. Tell the agent at the boarding gate that you are hearing-impaired and need to be notified in person when it’s time to board.

- Do not be afraid to ask for help from fellow travelers—most are more than willing to offer assistance.

- Keep an eye on your belonging’s at all times while in an airport, bus or train station.

- Be aware of drug and alcohol laws.

- Pack for the climate, but do not overpack.
( I usually pack and then I take out half of what I had packed and then if I am having trouble closing my bag I repeat the procedure. We have got it down to one knapsack each, but that means giving up our formal wear when cruising, if dressing up appeals to you then yes, pack a bit more and enjoy your cruise or resort.)

- Depending where you are going, a small first aid kit might be handy, band aids, antiseptic cream, scissors etc. Taylor it to fit your holiday (if you cannot pack your scissors into a checked bag then leave them at home as they will be taken away while going through security at the airport.)

- Take some insect repellent, suncream, treatment for diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.
( yes, you can probably buy these items when you get to your destination but you might be paying twice the price and then maybe not but why not have it on hand in case you need it.)

Sleep the Pounds Away

Sleep the Pounds Away
Studies show, and the PureTrim® system teaches, that without sufficient "mattress time," you will be far less successful with your weight loss efforts and your overall health will suffer as well.
in addition, according to the results of the National Sleep Foundation's annual "Sleep in America" poll, which were released March 4, there is an interesting link between exercise and sleep.
The study found that the more people exercise, the more likely they are to have satisfying sleep.
That means, the solution to your sleep woes—and therefore to weight loss hurdles—may be simple: exercise.
The poll showed that whether people were vigorous exercisers who did running, cycling, swimming, or competitive sports or were moderate exercisers, who took part in activities such as yoga, tai chi, or weight lifting, or even light exercisers who participated in lower-effort activities like walking— all exercisers reported a good night's sleep at least 56 percent of the time.

Non-exercisers reported that they had a good night's sleep only 39 percent of the time. The 2013 Sleep in America poll seems to validate the idea that even a little bit of exercise can make dramatic differences in a person's ability to sleep well.
"If you are inactive, adding a 10-minute walk every day could improve your likelihood of a good night's sleep," said Max Hirshkowitz, PhD, task force chair.
"Our poll data certainly find strong relationships between good sleep and exercise," added Hirshkowitz.
Exercise helps you burn calories, lose weight, and get stronger. It also helps you get better sleep! Good sleep is fundamental for good health, productivity, and happiness.

Tuning can increase fuel efficiency

Tuning can increase fuel efficiency

High-performance gauge tuners help reduce fuel consumption and improve engine performance to keep truckers competitive.

"Pushing the limits is what wins championships," according to Ted Kravitz of Sky Sports F1 HD News. No less competitive is the heavy-duty trucking industry, where owner/operators and fleet managers must race to stay ahead of rising diesel prices, regulations, and rivals. Seeking that extra edge, many truckers are turning to an emerging technology in the form of gauge tuners that coax maximum performance from their engines to yield significant fuel savings.

Banana for Breakfast anyone???

The following is from a Face book post and it is included here as part of the wellness journey we are on.  Enjoy

Banana for Breakfast anyone???

This is interesting. After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.

But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

200 students at a Twickenham school ( England ) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system..

Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chroniclercases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Many other cultures see bananas as a 'cooling' fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has FOUR TIMES the protein, TWICE the carbohydrate, THREE TIMES the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals.. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, 'A BANANA a day keeps the doctor away!'

take care and God Bless

does bitron work to better fuel efficiency.... YES, it Does!

bitroncleanoilfilterSome interested individual from Australia recently put in a search phrase " does bitron work" which brought them to this page

The info on this site is from an early outline of my bitron results.

My answer is a resounding YES, bitron works.

You, the interested party have to get your
mindset & perspective around that potential of  "YES" believing that it can assist you in reducing your fuel cost, assisting in better fuel efficiency.

I have now done a more complete log of my bitron results by logging my fuel fill ups for the period September 2005 to April 2013 which show the cost of product retail and the gains I have received including the dollar value of my reduced fuel costs

The Bitron products are for engine treatment, a metal treatment offering you better results on regular use.

As every fuel fill up is different, as a persons driving is likewise always a little different, the results I got over these 79 fill ups also vary.  Some results were very excellent, others were lousy. On the results shown on this updated web site at, I had 8 fill up out of 79 where I got no results. More to the point I got negative results on these 8 fill up & 71 with positive results.

The over all average was that these bitron products paid for themselves. They gave me a return of anywhere up to about 50% interest return per fill up.

So what this actually means is that for every fill up,  I got an average of between 10 to 25% return in interest. This interest is better fuel economy.

bitronPutting this another way, for every $100.00 you put in a fuel fill up would you turn down $10. to $25.00 or more.

Putting this another way, If for every $100.00 you deposited in your local bank, that bank gave you a variable interest rate return of $10.00 to $25.00 per deposit, sometimes more sometimes less, would you walk away from such a good deal.

To me, this is what every driver is doing by ignoring the benefits of regularly using the bitron products.

Each decision we make has a consequence.

The consequences for my belief in these excellent Bitron products is the return of reduced fuel costs I got per fill up over the past 14 plus years of which I have logged about 9 years of results.  You still have to maintain your vehicle, bitron simply assists in  preserving it longer, making it more efficient and slowing down engine repairs.

I still average with my 1997 GMC 1/2 ton truck between 21 and 23.5 mpg with mostly in town driving
This is 4 to 6.5 mpg above my starting base of 17 mpg. This is going on 108,000 miles of actual regular bitron use.

Something to think about

Enjoy the journey

take care and God Bless
